The Over-Politicization of Christian Churches for Conservative Politics | Reagan Scott | Ep. 173
Talking today with Reagan Scott on how many Christian churches have become overly-politicized. This is due in large part to pastors on both sides of the political aisle partnering with political organizations and leveraging their platform/captive audience for political gain rather than preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ.
My audience will be aware of this practice in liberal-leaning churches over the last couple years, but today Reagan and I focus on how more recently, we’ve seen this phenomenon in conservative Christian churches, due in some part thanks to organizations like Turning Point USA’s new program “Turning Point Faith” which aims to go into temples, mosques and churches to get people to register to vote, start chapters within youth groups and ‘activate their faith in the public square.’ We discuss the danger of this ecumenical movement to sharing the true gospel of Jesus Christ.
